Terms of Use

The goal of Certified for Access is to encourage and facilitate open, respectful and purposeful dialogue on a issues related to accessibility and the process that is tasked with helping develop certification standards for accessibility at businesses and organizations across Ontario. This is an opportunity for Ontarians to share views and engage in discussion and we appreciate your interest in helping Certified for Access build a better Ontario for everyone.

Participants are required to register and provide a valid email account before participating in the dialogue, submitting stories, responding to engagement questions or providing feedback. If you wish, you may add an optional screen name to your profile to replace your real name on any public facing screen when you participate. You must not use a false e-mail address, impersonate any person or entity, or otherwise mislead as to the origin of such content.

You may submit content and actively participate in the engagement opportunities on this site, provided the content is not illegal, obscene, defamatory, threatening, an invasion of privacy, objectionable or infringing of intellectual property rights of third parties, and does not consist of or contain software viruses, commercial solicitation or any form of "spam". 
 
Certified for Access will post original content in both French and English. Registered participants may choose to participate in either French or English. Certified for Access will respond in the language used by the participant. Content generated by participants will appear on both the French and English sites, enabling visitors of both sites to see the complete conversation.
 
If you post or submit comments or otherwise participate on this site, ("Material"), you grant Certified for Access an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content or material world-wide. You irrevocably waive all moral rights to such Material. You represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control all rights to any Material posted or submitted and that your Material does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity.
 

Moderation Policy

Certified for Access will monitor and edit or remove any activity or material or inactivate any account that appears to violate these terms of use or guidelines for participating in an online discussion. By choosing to participate in the Certified For Access website, you are indicating that you accept to abide by this moderation policy.

Accordingly, we reserve the right to remove comments, including comments that are:

  • racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous;
  • insulting or involve questionable conduct in regards to a person;
  • aggressive, rude, coarse, violent, obscene, profane or pornographic in nature;
  • offensive or abusive to an individual or organization;
  • used for advertising or promotional purposes;
  • repetitive or spamming threads; or,
  • off topic or do not add to the normal flow of the discussion, as determined by the moderators.

Certified for Access is committed to providing a safe, open, and respectful forum for discussion about creating a more accessible Ontario for everyone. This moderation policy is designed to allow all users to share their opinions and ideas. Constructive disagreements are part of the discussions. However, abusive, intolerant or insulting comments will not be tolerated. They will be removed by the moderator.

Anyone acting contrary to the terms of use may have their account temporarily or permanently suspended. Please keep in mind the views of participants do not necessarily represent our views
